In collaboration with the Oregon New Lawyers Division (ONLD), the Marion County New Lawyers Division will be coordinating a Wills for Heroes clinic here in Marion-Polk County. This clinic will provide essential legal documents free of charge to first responders, including simple wills and powers of attorney. The Marion-Polk County clinic will follow other successful clinics held in Multnomah County and Washington County last year.
There is a great need for this service in our community, and in order to plan a successful program, we are reaching out first to find out who is interested in volunteering at a clinic this fall. All interested attorneys are welcome, new attorneys, practicing attorneys, and retired attorneys. We anticipate a lot of interest from first responders for these services and want to plan accordingly. The goal is to organize the clinic to meet the needs in our community as well as provide an excellent opportunity for lawyers to give back. We are also looking for volunteers to serve as witnesses and notaries. It is also a great opportunity for law students to observe.
If you are interested in volunteering for a 1 day or ½ day clinic or in helping plan, please contact email@example.com.
