An informal gathering of judges, attorneys and law clerks to discuss the practice of law in our courts and community. Each year MLLS and the MCBA collect toys for “Santa Central” to support and encourage foster children during the holiday season.
Donations from Marion County are the primary source for gifts for these foster children.

MCBA Memorial Service – December 10, 2015

The 2015 Biennial MCBA Memorial Service is scheduled for December 10, 2015 from 3:00-4:30pm at the Marion County Court House Courtroom 2-A, 100 High St. NE, Salem, Oregon.  At this memorial service, the Marion County Bar Association recognizes members that have passed in the past two years for their significance to the Salem legal community. Families of deceased members are invited to attend this ceremony.

The Mary Leonard Law Society, OWLS Working Parents Committee, and State of Oregon Law Library invite you to a lunchtime presentation by Willamette law professor Keith Cunningham-Parmeter, a prolific scholar on emerging theories of employment discrimination, including work-family policy and gender theory. Learn about employee rights under state and federal laws to take leave time for maternity, paternity, and caring for family members, and other issues related to the rise of paternity leave and its intersection with gender equality in the workplace. This is a FREE event.  Brownbag lunches and covered drinks welcome.

CASA of Marion County Monthly Giving Campaign Launch: Friday, Sept 18, 2015, 7:00pm

CASA of Marion County needs you this Friday evening

Court Appointed Special Advocates are community volunteers appointed by a judge to advocate for abused and neglected children in state care. A CASA volunteer may be the only constant in that child’s life.

The need is great — on average, over 1,000 children in Marion County are in foster care.

So how can you help?

CASA of Marion County will launch a Monthly GIving Campaign this Friday, September 18, at Illahee Country Club. Marion County Commissioner Kevin Cameron will join us, as well as Lené Garrett, the new Executive Director of CASA of Marion County.

We will have desserts and time to mingle with others interested in helping children in Marion County.  Please join us for the launch of our Monthly Giving Campaign!!
